Founded in 1931, the Painted Cave Mutual Water Company provides clean, reliable water to the Painted Cave community along the scenic Santa Ynez Mountains. Owned collectively by local landowners, the company serves approximately 175 residents through 91 service connections. Our robust well draws from a pristine watershed untouched by industrial or agricultural activity, ensuring exceptionally pure water for our shareholders and their families.
Painted Cave Mutual Water Company is a California corporation operated as a not-for-profit mutual water company with the primary purpose of the Corporation to provide clean and reliable drinking water to the Shareholders for domestic use. The Board has the authority to manage it's production, distribution, and consumption in such a manner to preserve the water resource in perpetuity.
